We are looking for a Junior Frontend Developer, who has strong digital expertise and experience, for a growing and thriving SME business in the creative sector.  This is an exciting and fulfilling role, covering all aspects of the digital services side of the business.

Your place within our team

You will work cross-departmentally with our creative studio, marketing and account management teams, coming together to develop leading services for our clients. You will maintain an organised and efficient work environment, ensuring high levels of organisational effectiveness and communication.

Your skills and knowledge

There are principally 4 key areas of skills the role requires:

  • Markup: HTML5 & CSS3 (SASS / LESS)
  • Languages: JavaScript & PHP
  • Platforms: WordPress
  • Libraries: jQuery, Three.js, React
  • Development Toolkits: Node, Gulp and/or Webpack

Your role and responsibilities

To be successful in this role, you will need to be keen to involve yourself in all areas across the business. Ideally, we are looking for a Frontend Developer with excellent attention to detail and a real passion to produce outstanding work.

A large part of the role will be working with WordPress theme development, however, there is also scope for working on 3D experiences developed in Canvas, as well as other frontend technologies.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Developing beautiful frontend solutions.
  • Developing custom WordPress themes.
  • Conducting website performance tests and optimising site
  • Knowledge and working experience of Gulp and/or Webpack
  • Working alongside other developers and designers and the broader team to discuss website design and function
  • Working directly with clients as part of team meetings
  • Ability to create a good plan and determination to accomplish goals
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Good data analysis, planning and organisational skills
  • The ability to provide direction
  • Managing any stock control and inventory or asset register checks
  • Monitoring projects and teams
